Who we are

Open Air Campaigners (OAC) is an international ministry which has been founded in Sydney (Australia) in 1892. In the meantime there are OAC branches in numerous countries in the world. The name of the German branch of Open Air Campaigners is OAC - Missionsteams in Deutschland e.V.

The OAC evangelists see their special mandate in preaching the Gospel in the open air. So we are for example organising open air outreaches in pedestrian areas as well as during folk and street festivals. Programmes for children are conducted in residential estates, on beaches and at camping sites. Thereby we are always working in partnership with the local church on the basis of the Evangelical Alliance in Germany. Before going outside there is mostly a training of the team members in the local church. One goal of the OAC workers is the establishment and supervision of mission teams of the local church.

Beside the work in the open air we are frequently visiting jails, homes for children and schools. In the scope of a ?OAC missions week? conducted in partnership with the local church we are exploring every thinkable missionary possibility in the particular town.

When practising our work we use totally different aids. But the trademark of OAC is the ?sketch board?. This is a great board on which a picture is painted when preaching. This brush- painted picture shall illustrate the sermon. The German OAC evangelists are teaching this kind of visual presentation of the Gospel at Bible Schools and Theological Seminars in the homeland and abroad.

Director of OAC - Missionsteams e.V. is International Evangelist Ulrich Hofius. The missions office is situated in Neunkirchen near Siegen.
